My new Veon has already developed a fault. It has started briefly flicking off and on at random intervals. It usually goes off for a second or less, occasionally a few seconds. It appears to be a complete power cut. Screen goes completely black and audio ceases. Then it flicks back on and the HDMI notification appears as it does when the set is first powered on.

So far this has only happened a few times, very briefly, when browsing the Internet. But it was much, much worse last night while streaming a film. I have also noticed some some screen artefacts. On Geekzone sometimes I see vague dancing green vertical lines at the top of the screen on a dark background. While watching the film there were noticeable sparkles scattered through the image. But the quality was already poor due to my lousy Internet connection. I have no idea if these things are related.

Has anyone else with a Veon experienced anything like this?

I guess you've checked the obvious, like the power supply / connections. Once had a power supply where if I wiggled it a bit the power would cut in and out inside the cable itself.

This appears to be entirely internal. I have tapped it to try to replicate the fault.

Out of semi random straw grasping I would disable HDMI-CEC and also try a new HDMI cable.

My last VEON tv had a fault - it was a manufacturing fault in the casting where the feet are mounted. Rang them up and they asked no questions other than "when can we pick it up" and "do you want a refund or replacement". It seems to be an accepted part of the business model. Had the replacement for a couple of months now and so far it's flawless.

Thanks for the tips. Do you know how long the warranty is? Mine is less than a year old, more than six months.

I will try the things you suggest but it hasn't reached that point yet. That is also frustrating, when the problem is so intermittent and random. Last night it was happening constantly. Today it hasn't happened once. I did try banging on it last night but it didn't seem to have any effect. I had the problem on two different HDMI inputs, one fed by my pc, the other by an Android dongle.

I believe the warranty is 3 years. You're covered - no question about that.
