SAMSUNG 46"Full HD LCD TV  LA46N81BX
http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/en/product/G6495

The bit that gets me is the LA46N where on the samsung site there is not such model.  I think Harvey Normans has the same thing.

Interesting promo here, if you buy that tv before the 31st which includes the LA46M81BX model

This model isnt listed on the samsung website so could be end of line, however you're correct Harvey, Bond&Bond, DSE and Noel are all selling this model

I would guess at it being new to the NZ market.

And as cranz has pointed out, it is on all of the NZ retailers websites under that product code.

Also, cnet have had it under review.

Though I am not sure what the X is for?

So is the general consensus that this is a new model not on the Samsung site or a mistype on the LA46M81BX?

I would say they are different, even if only due to the pictures being different and different specs.

Is that 8ms response time fast enough for sports?

I'm not qualified to get into the Plasma vs LCD debate, but I have seen motion judder on a friends Panasonic LCD and it is driving him nuts!!

Probably not/possibly now, there's a new model, the F series which has a 100Hz vertical refresh (as opposed to the 50 Hz on most others) that when put up again the 46 " m81 - looks much better on fast moving HD content.

I saw this in action at Harvey Norman lower hutt, a Mr and Mrs Smith demo I saw a 46" M81, 40" F81 and a 40" R LCD all playing the same reel via component, and the F81 looked the best IMHO for "keeping up" with the video. Reflected in the prices though...

I guess it's all pretty subjetive though...

yes the n81 is the new model replacing the m81. I purchased an 46m81 a cpl of months ago as a runout model. The new n81 isnt speced quite as good as the m81 but i imagine samsung believe it it sets better in the current product range with the new f81. steve

I bought this set a few months ago and I'm quite happy with the TV ( LA46N81BX )

Paid $3200 from Powerstore, they threw in a set of 2m and 6m HDMI 1.3 cables for $70.

It has just scan which does 1:1 Pixel mapping which is nice.

Also got a 5.1 Channel Receiver / Speaker combo via redemtion for free (Worth about $4-600)
