I noticed I am missing the above channels in my WMC guide.

The channels are there, as I can select them via the tuner(s).

I cant spot any obvious errors in the EPG collector log(s), but I'm probably missing something.

I have a AverMedia DVBS-S2 and Hauppauge DVT-T

EPG Centre (Version 4.3 FP 9)

Is this an issue with the channel(s) not providing EPG data temporarily, or something gone wrong with my setup ?

Has something changed recently ?

Cheers

Hi this problem is due to changes made to the paths in the mux

Following the combining of the DTT and DTH EPG’s to be spooled from the same carousels, changes were made to the path for each EPG so they could be individually identified (they previously used the same path). The previous path would have been “/epg/data/date”… the new paths are:

DTT: /epgdtt/data/date

DTH: /epgdth/data/date

So I can't find where to set these paths in any of the config files for EPG collector so assume they are hard coded. we need the developer to make changes to the code. How do we get in touch with him?

Presumably you are talking about the MHEG5 carousels.

Just change to collecting EIT, it produces the same results and includes the programme category.

And make sure you set the option on the Advanced dialog to use the Huffman tables for decoding or the descriptions will be garbled.

The EIT won't work as it is encrypted and doesn't contain all the data that MHEG5 does.

It's not encrypted, it's Huffman compressed. That's why I mentioned setting the option to use the Huffman decoding tables.

It actually has slightly more data than MHEG5 because it has the programme category.

Most EPGC users I have had contact with in NZ have switched to EIT.

Thanks you are correct. I was given the wrong info regarding the EIT. I have tried this and it works. If you get a error “code 10 frequencies not processed”. Increasing data collection timeout from 300 to 600 sec (advanced tab) will fix it.

Sorry I should have mentioned the timeout.

Thanks for the pointers - I did a rescan from within WMC, and it's picked up all the missing channels.

It's a bit of a PITA when something changes at their end....

I'm pretty sure I'm collecting via MHEG5 - I'll look into changing it to EIT.

Usually stuff like this "just works", and messing around with it just tends to break things down the line - the law of unintentional consequences ... :-)
