Hi,

Looking to buy a new television, which will be hooked up to a HTPC running Myth (my winter project!) Will also be connected to a Sky digital box.
Saw an Acer 32" at DSE, specs are as follows:

- Resolution: 1366 x 768 (ready for 720p, 1080i HD content)
- Brightness: 500 nits

Anyone know whether Acer TVs are any good? Never had an experience with the brand. And are there any issues you can see in terms of inputs/outputs?

Personally I steer clear of Acer products - everything I've used or owned has been flaky at best. Generally with TVs you'll find the price is reflective of quality. How much is that one going for? You can get some ace 32" telly's for around the $1000-$1200 mark

They are good TV's with a pretty good picture. There have been quality issues with Acer TV's in the past but they seem to have solved these now. IMHO for the price they are certainly unbeatable.

If this is the same model as one I have played with they do 1360x768@60Hz for VGA input which is good (certainly double check the manul first!) - there are plenty of 32" TV's on the market that will only accept 1024x768 as for VGA.

Save up a bit more money & get a 42" plasma :)

HTPC: 3G P4, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8500GT, HVR 2200 (for FreeviewHD), 2x Hauppauge PVR-150 (1 for analog TV + 1 for AV input), Windows 7
Display: 42" Panasonic Plasma
Blu Ray/Games: PS3
