I'm using the OpenTV: Sky NZ EPG grabber module to receive my 7 day guide. It's fantastic!

But if I access the xmltv of the EPG externally by going to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9981/xmltv/channels on my tvheadend server, the guide is corrupted.

The reason is because some program descriptions have weird characters that tvheadend can't handle. For instance if a description has the pound symbol, the guide get's corrupted.

A lot of clients require xmltv (eg Plex and VU+) so I would love to get it working. I know I can use EPG Collector, but my server is Linux.

What can I do to fix the issue? I have tried to work out what a 'grabber module' is and to see if I can fix it, but I'm not sure where to start and it's probably a bit beyond me.

Thanks.

You can run EPG Collector under Mono if you are really stuck but you can't use a normal tuner (file or Sat>IP input only).
