Sorry not to sure where to ask this question

I have several IP cameras and I want to be able to view them on my TV

It is a Sony Android u beaut, current model kd-49x7000d

I have a chromecast thingy attached, android box , iMac , pc

So I am happy to use anything

This is a home setup so I don't need to go over the top.

I have tried several apps but can't seem to find an IP cam viewer that will show them on the tv

Maybe I am searching using the wrong term?

Do the ip cameras have an app that you can chrome cast from?  Otherwise most ip cameras have a webpage at the same IP address that you can access via browser on tv or via pc with hdmi

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

You could use TinyCam Pro and tasker on the Android TV. Tasker has a plugin that will start a floating window in TinyCam Pro. I use it on an android tablet.

I run TinyCam Pro in background mode.

In Tasker I setup the TinyCam plugin so that when it detects motion it displays a floating window on the tablet for X number of seconds. Once the time is up Tasker closes the floating window.

Cheers, Matt

Ive used IP Camera viewer before, it has cast ability on it but seems to pull in a jpeg stream not the proper h264 stream so its a slideshow not the sometimes 30fps output of the camera. Also glitches quite often. Was not impressed.

Another vote for Tinycam pro, I'm using the pro version on my Kd65x9000e. I've not done a thorough test, but as richms has said, it doesn't seem to like the 1080p stream. It's more than good enough to see what's there, but no where near 30fps a lot closer to 2fps. I'm yet to test my low res sub stream.

Edit: I have kept my feed at 1080p, 30fps, but changed to hardware decoding (not hardware+) and now get 28fps. Before I was get 6fps. Even with cars going past in only seeing around 10% dropped frames which I'm pretty happy with.
