Im having some trouble with my Hauppage HVR4000 remote.

When in Mediaportal the remote does not respond at all.
In windows no buttons respond apart from the 'home' button. It brings up the big grey box saying 'IR remote'
Ive ticked the box in mediaportal configuration to use the hauppage remote.

Does anyone have a guide for how to set this remote up. Ive been searching the net all night and have found plenty of related material but nothing that works.

Thanks

Does the remote work on WinTV?  I only have an HVR-3000 so I can only assume that the remotes are the same, but that would at least prove the remote itself is not faulty.

Pushing the green 'power' button when I'm in desktop starts Vista Media Centre on my machine. Pushing the TV button from the desktop starts WinTV but that is with the full software package from www.hauppauge.co.uk CD4.4 loaded (drivers and WinTV suite).

Then maybe head on over to the MediaPortal forums to see if there are any issues with the HVR4000 remote.  The one packaged with my 3000 certainly works with MP albeit with a couple of code conflicts with my Sky remote (not MySky).

When I setup mediaportal using the remote that came with my NOVA-T 500, I had to specify that it was a 45 button remote in the mediaportal settings before I got it to work. The only problem I had was that it sometimes conficts with the volum code on my TV as in I change channel and the volum on my TV increases too :)

Thanks for the help.

Problem fixed, I was using an older driver, Ver3.3

I installed hcw 4.4b and that fixed the problem.

Cheers
