Hi!
I found the EZ Tune 5 supplied with my mobo (ga-ma78gm-s2h) quite useful, as I can wind my cpu fan way low, considering the load is most of the time less than 20%. At 800 rpm I cannot hear it from 10cm away and the cpu temp is only 35 - 38 C. At a certain point the fan went off and I panicked a little bit, but it went back on at a low speed when the processor reached 40C and the temp dropped to 34C in less than 30 sec. Is it dangerous to allow the cpu fan to stop?
Unfortunately this application appears to generate some error most of the time. You get a "Mark_Fun...." message at startup. I have Powercinema configured to launch on startup, but this message waits for me to click "OK" to launch Powercinema.
(The remote control I have kicks in after Powercinema is launched, it gives me no control on the desktop, to select the "OK" button and press it. I do not think you can get control of the desktop, unless you spend $180 on one of the RF keyboards... still looking at a way to move the mouse using my Hauppauge remote control...)
For the moment I uninstalled the "EZ Tune" application.
I would like to use the fan speed control feature and get rid of the error message. Any work-around?
The stock fan is OK when watching tv, but when the tv is off, you realise the fan is quite noisy. I think I have the "Cool'n'Quiet" feature enabled in BIOS but no results. The fan revs up and down, but it doesn't go to very low speeds I can achieve with EZ Tune...
