I've just had Sky installed and the STB is a PACE DS230NNZ (gerat little box too).
However it differs from the manual I've downloaded from Pace in that it has 2 scart sockets and a 3.5mm optical audio socket instead of 2 scarts and 2 RCA audio sockets. It must be a new revision?
Both the scart sockets are working OK. One goes to the TV with component and audio and the other goes to the DVD recorder (Sony) as scart to scart.
However there is no output from the 3.5mm optical socket and I can't find anything in the on screen setup menu referring to it. When I select "Optical Fixed" input on my Sony Amp I get a brief "Unlock" message pop up. It's definitely not the Sony amp as when I plug in the optical from the Freeview HD STB all is sweet.
Anybody able to help please?

Hi, the manual from pace does not reflect the NZ box well. The DS230NNZ does have hardware optical support via the 3.5mm audio socket as well as analog line levels, however the current SkyNZ firmware for standard (ie nonPVR/MySky) boxs does not support this feature, so giveup while you still have your sanity, unless Sky update firmware to support it (and DD5.1 on SD streams would be good) then it wont work.

I'll give up already.
I've split the audio out from the scart and run it to the TV and the Amp. That's solved the problem for the meantime and it's working fine.
Now to sort out the component cables switching thru the amp!!
