Hi everyone.

I have a pair of Wharfedale Modus 7 floor standing speakers from the late 90s.

The glue between the surrounds and metal basket on the speaker drivers has dried in spots. The surrounds are in perfect condition otherwise.

Any ideas on what type of glue is safe to use from the surrounds to metal basket?

As long as you do t get glue on the rubber surrounds of the actual speaker or on the speaker cones you are ok.

I thought the Warf's hada wee channel for the grill to slot in to?

Damn fine speakers. Still my main home theatre speakers. Hand made in Leeds, England. Let us know how you get on with the repairs, as I'm sure I'll be needing to do the same at some point.

I have refoamed several speakers now and use Parfix PVA Glue.

Watch this video - this is the method I use. No shims required.

They are pretty amazing! Incredibly loud for their size and don't need a particularly powerful amp to make them sing. (Using a 105W/ch 6Ohm Pioneer)

Hi there,

Earlier in the year I had a foam edge issue with my subwoofer. I found this outfit in Florida who supplied a kit to repair the issue. Wasn’t expensive, and their customer service was fantastic.

So I had a look in Mitre 10 and found for around $8 this 'CRC F2 contact adhesive'.

Appears to have done the trick! :). Very easy to apply and a nice consistancy for delicate application.

My speaker only had around half of the surround glue loose so it was much easier than other jobs.
