Hi,

I have free view UHF plugged directly from the aerial into the back of my Panasonic Tuner/HDD recordeder.
If I buy one of these and disconnect the aerial and attach the splitter kit would this work?
My TV in the bedroom has Freeview built in so I assume this could run independently of the other TV
So I can watch 2 different channel's at the same time.

Thanks :)

Yep, should work just fine.

Assuming, of course, that your signal is strong enough. When you split it, both TVs will get less signal 'strength', so if your signal is marginal, or near it, you may find it kills both. You should be fine though - most people split their signal at least once, many people way more than once (mine is split 4 ways).

Another note - you may need another shorter cable to get from the splitter to the original TV (depending on how your setup is configured now).

If you have a cable running direct from the aerial to the TV, you plug it into the bottom of the 'T' on the splitter, the new white cable there to one leg of the 'T' off to you other TV, and you will need a cable to go to you original TV from the remaining leg of the 'T'.

Yep. Is how Multi dwellings work

The full range of signal is received by the antenna, its up to the device to filter out specific transponders. Similarly you may have an 'RF out' / passthrough on devices to daisy chain the next.

Just be aware the more plugs in the chain the more signal loss.

/edit. got beat

If you use the RF output of the Panasonic recorder, you can just use the 10m cable (with the adapters) to connect to the 2nd tv - so there is no need for the splitter. This would require the Panasonic recorder to be plugged in to the mains (but not necessarily powered on) so that the signal is passed on. Didn't see 1 listed on the Warehouse website, but you can get a 10m cable with the standard coax connectors (male on 1 end and female on the other) and no need for the adapters. Something like this. The Warehouse may have it.

Presume your current tv doesn't have Freeview built in which is why you use the Panasonic recorder - at a later date, if you did replace the tv with one which did, then you would want to use the splitter and a short Male-Female coax lead like this. You would need the splitter to feed both locations.

Hi,

Looks like I need a female to female joiner to connect the aerial to the bottom of the splitter as the both have the stick in the middle.
Then I need a male to make to connect the cord back onto the recorder. It's a Panasonic DMR HWT 260 so has built in tuners.
With this it will go aerial into bottom of splitter,
Long cable into bedroom off side of splitter and short cabl off other side of splitter back onto recorder.
Hopefully that makes sense???

Splitters only have female F type sockets. Post a photo.

Checking the manual, the 260 has RF in RF out

No need for a splitter, just run 2nd cable from RF out to other device.

Unless you are attempting to remove the FV box.

Independant. It's a straight in/out. For allowing exactly that so you don't have 2 cables from antenna out the wall.

Normally if you wanted to watch 1 and record the other (with a normal tv and inbuilt tuner) the antenna goes in to the recorder, out to the TV so both get it, you use the tv remote to change channel on the TV while the box on the one(s) it's recording.
