Hey guys, so I was thinking about getting the LG 43LK5100 TV from PB Tech ( https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/TVLGL04351/LG-43LK5100-43-IPS-Full-HD-TV--1920X1080 )

Was told that PS4 slim runs on 60Hz and the TV I want to get is 50Hz, is this going to be a problem?

Also, how does this TV hold up for a budget TV, all I want it for is gaming (PS4), streaming netflix and youtube and sports streaming etc

Would this TC also be able to connect up to a wireless sound bar?

They call them 50Hz because NZ still uses that for its broadcasts. They take 60Hz fine over HDMI because that is mandated in the HDMI specs. Its saying it doesnt have 100/120Hz motion plus etc on it, which gets disabled in game mode in anycase.

I was kind of surprised to see this tv being sold, as I thought Philips had pulled out of the TV market in NZ. Might make future repairs a bit more difficult. Buyer beware I guess.

I picked up a 4K Panasonic 43” a couple of weeks ago for $950. If your budget will stretch, 4K may be a bit more future proof. With the benefit of hindsight, 4K on 43” is only incrementally noticeable over FHD (unless you are sitting about 1.5m from the screen). One thing I have noticed, is that because all 43” LCDs are edge lit, they are not as bright as array lit models (>49").
Not sure if you are limited to the size you need. Bigger always better when it comes to TVs ;-)

Hey guys, well I think anything bigger that the 43" might be too big because I'm using the TV in the bedroom. Will most likely be sitting about 2-3m away from the TV so don't think getting a 4K in the same size will make much difference.

I'm deciding to only get FHD right now is because my PS4 is a Slim so can run games at 4K and most of the streaming I do will be in 1080.

Only other think I do which makes me want other better features is streaming the rugby/football/basketball on the TV
