Two days ago I bought a Sony 55inch OLED from Noel Leeming (I gave away my old HT in the buy/sell of geekzone).

I've setup it up and all looked good but I noticed on static screens there are big black marks in the corner.  It's visible but not so apparent in moving scenes.

Has anyone seen anything like this in the attached photo (bottom left corner).  I'm going to back to NL tomorrow but thought I'd check here first.

Maybe it’s just the photo, but on my tablet it looks like it has burn-in on the right side too. It’s not an ex-demo set is it?
I’d call it DOA if you only bought it two days ago. Replacement, not repair.

Edit: Actually the right side might be reflection. My comment about replacement still stands though.

The right side could be a result of the photo.

No it's not ex-demo, I'm going to request full replacement.

There's no speaker, that's PS4.

So I did a panel refresh (takes about an hour) and the black marks have gone.  Not sure what to do now.

I suggest letting NL know (in writing) what you have found, if for no other reason so there is a record if it happens again down the track.  They may offer a new set anyway.

Did TV come with ferrite-core clips?

Maybe the 'panel refresh' is a form of degaussing?

Great advice.  I emailed NL.  They were a bit useless but as you say I now have it on record that I raised it with them.  TV seems fine now, long may it continue.

Any retailer "yeah right". Especially as it's NOT from all provided information an actual fault.
