Has anyone found a way to control a samsung LCD TV using either the Microsoft MCE remote or another type of remote.  From what I can tell the TV doesn't even seem to pickup the IR signals as the red light doesn't even flash.  This is annoying as i'd hoped it would allow me to turn off the tv using the MCE remote.  But alias no luck so far.....

The TV model is LA32S81BX

It controls mediaportal well although I'm having some issues bring my system out of a suspended state.  It powers on but sometimes doesn't re-initialize properly and needs a cold reset to fix it.  But that's another issue.....

I have had issues with getting the learning buttons on the MCE remote to work properly for any device. It does take a number of attempts at the best of times, I found.

I gave up trying with my LA32R81BH model. But I was easily able to use the Samsung remote to teach my universal learning remote, Remote Master RM2002, the codes & it operates without fail. So I guess my Microsoft MCE remote is not the only one with learning disabilities. Considering who its father is, I'm not surprised.

PS. Welcome.
