Remote has vanished (house shift) and I'm trying to find a compatible model for the above TV.

Anyone still have the original remote? If I know the model number I might be able to find a replacement.

PS: I don't want to purchase a universal remote - probably cost more than the TV is worth.

The thing I have found with most sony tvs (but 1) is that the tv remotes tend to be interchangable, minus some buttons/features.

I bought a generic Sony replacement remote from trademe a couple of years back.
My dad is a chronic button fiddler and managed to wreck the original.
From memory it was around $10 + freight and it just worked straight away.

Was something like this

Sony TVs tend to use similar codes.
Just pop the rm-ga005 code into trademe. Plenty of results...

Thanks, guys. Yep, it did turn out to be the RM-GA005 - a very helpful Sony guy in the Philippines looked it up for me - and a guy is selling them on TradeMe for $5 plus freight.

Main reason I couldn't just improvise with some other form of control is that I'll be quitting the TV shortly and wanted it to be properly equipped.

Advice much appreciated :-)
