I had Mysky HDi installed yesterday. Since installation I have had nothing but pixellation on the HD channels followed by T100 rain fade announcements, to the extent that I never get a full minute of normal transmission. The non-HD channels come through fine. The weather has not been too flash but during the same period the old standard def MySky that is now my second decoder has had no problems on any channel.
I'm thinking of sending MySky back unless the problem is solvable.
The odd thing is that the old SD MySky box is pulling in a signal at only 59-61 dBuV; the new box is getting signal strength of 68 dBuV.
The dish is atop a tall apartment block so I'm wondering if wind is causing the dish to move. A knowledgeable friend said that if programs are coming though OK on SD then they should come through OK on HD too.
Is he correct or are HD signals more sensitive and need a steadier dish? Is it the dish at all?
The SKY technician is coming on Friday but I'd be grateful for any thoughts from people more up with the play than I am.
