Just received:

Today Dick Smith launched its new  Kogan-branded SmarterTV™ range online, setting a new pricing benchmark. The range is also available at Kogan.com.

The Kogan Smarter™ 43”, 50” & 58” TVs all boast a high-quality 4K resolution with HDR which is (arguably) the only way to experience movies and TV in 2019.

The new range is powered by Android TV™ with Voice Search, allowing you to search your favourite shows and movies, and control your Google Assistant compatible devices, by (you guessed it) using just your voice. They range also features built-in Chromecast and Freeview On Demand, as well as powerful Dolby Audio bringing the rich, clear sound of cinema to your home.

The Kogan Smarter™ televisions are available online now exclusively at Dick Smith and Kogan.com:

Specifications for 43”, 50” & 58”  Kogan Smarter TV:

  • 4K 3840 × 2160 resolution
  • Chromecast built-in
  • Powered by Android TV™ featuring Google Assistant with Voice Search
  • Control your Google Assistant compatible devices like Phillips Hue, Nest and Belkin Wemo
  • Support for all your favourite streaming services – Stan, YouTube, Netflix and more
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR) support
  • Wi-Fi, ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity
  • 2 x USB ports; 3 x HDMI ports
  • Powerful Dolby audio

So with Kogan/DSE being based in OZ does our ConsumersGuarantee Act still apply?

I notice we do get a mention on their warranty page

They must e warehouseing these in NZ somewhere surely? Otherwise there will be GST to pay at the border (unless these prices include it, and Kogan pays it for you?)

As for CGA - Kogan is registered in NZ, the website is .co.nz, prices in NZD - CGA will surely apply I'd think (IANAL however).

I asked for a review one as suggested in the press release email. They never replied to that or the follow up email.

Your conclusions will be as good as mine, based on this.
