Every couple of years I have a long haul to the UK. In the past I have sought out a pair of Bose 35's . When I get back I sell them off as they have fulfilled there purpose till next time. This time however there is a lot of chatter that the Sonys are the way to go these days.

Could I get some basic feedback Sony or Bose?

Thanks

If you were buying from having nothing, Sony. No question. I own both, My wife got the Bose within about 10 minutes of me trying the Sonys.  The gesture controls alone made it worth the upgrade.  I love mine.

In terms of noise cancelling, it's marginal. Unless you could compare side to side you wouldn't notice.

I am a bit of a headphone nut, for me the upgrade was worth it, I wouldn't think many others would spend money on the difference if they already had one or the other.

Having owned both, IMO the Sonys have a better sound but the QC35s are more comfortable for wearing for long periods.

I sold my QC35s and kept the Sonys as I don't travel long haul often enough for the comfort different to be an issue.

No comparison, the Sony’s are significantly better in all respects.

I would agree with the comfort comment made by @andib. I don't have big ears, and mine stay comfortably inside the cups, but I get more sweating in the Sony's which isn't a sensation I like.

Except comfort. Clearly this a personal view, but I regard the QC35's as a vastly superior headphone over the XM2 and XM3 for my head and ear shape.

I wouldn't go as far as saying the XM3 nor QC35 are better, both are awesome headphones but there are pros and cons to both. Personally I would however opt for the QC35 if I was buying a new pair now.

(For the record I currently own 1000XM2's)

Apparently they Sonys don't deal so well with multi device pairing. Not an issue if you're just pairing it to your phone though.

Is anyone aware of any mods to the MX3's that make them less sweaty? They are perfect for me other than that.

I have both and am about to travel to Aussie, so I might try one pair one way and the other pair on the way back.

another +1 for the Sonys

I spend way too much time on airplanes, and have both the Sony and Bose

IMHO the Sony MX3s are "better"

The question is, would you buy the Sony's if you already had the Bose? :)
