So I decided to jump up from my old 55 Samsung and grabbed a 65 Sony X9000F.

Great piece of kit but I’m struggling my way through setting all the apps and hiding stuff I don’t need .... I have a few queries I’m trying to find using Sony online help manuals and google. However...

Set up= sky and blu ray direct to marantz amp
Marantz amp to tv via hdmi 3 ARC
Main tv viewing is sky and Netflix/prime/on demand stuff

Issue = The TV button.

As I understand it up until this release you could change the function of the key to direct to a hdmi input source as opposed to the aerial feed. Why did they take this away? It would be really good as my frustration is that i don’t have tv channels via aerial feed. It defaults to google play movie adverts / shorts

I would really like it to go to hdmi3 feed or at worst Freeview which I loaded from Matt’s apk.

Any suggestions on a possible work around? Or can I get it to default to another app?

I wondered if I could add a favourite somehow and change from google movies to the other favourite but I’m lost in menu land...

Any suggestions?

The TV Key function instantly jumps to a specific input when you press the TV button on the supplied remote. It works as a shortcut button to a specific input. For example, if you have a cable box connected to an HDMI® input, you can press the TV button on the remote and instantly go to that specific input. Follow these steps to customize the TV Key:

On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
Select Settings.
Under the TV category, select External Inputs.
Select Customize TV Key.
Select an input that you want to link to the TV button.

Note: 2018 Android TV™ (F-Series) models don't have the Customize TV Key option.

WHY NOT ?....
