Hi, I have got multiroom with Mysky HD and Mysky downstairs. I have run a second coax to the family/games room. When I plug the mysky in all I get is "updating info please wait". This message has been sitting there for ages now so I dont think it is working.

I tried swapping the two input coax's that run to the splitter over in case it was an LNB powering issue. But just got atmospheric message

Any ideas?

No sorry, I can describe it though, two RF cables from the tuner inputs go to a splitter, then there is a single coax from there to the sky dish.

Just checking a couple of things:

  1. Have you got a splitter on the back of your MySky1 so that cables are connected to both the inputs?
  2. Did you have an older single LNB prior to your HD install? Did the tech replace it with a dual LNB during the install?

Hi, yes cables from both inputs to the splitter and I have the dual LNB I guess as the MySky HD works. I am away from home currently so will take another look tomorrow and report back.

Thanks for your suggestions.

OK, assuming your HD box works fine from either cable and your MySky1 doesn't work from any location or splitter configuration, either with or without the HD box connected at the same time, it's probably not a LNB power problem. Maybe your MySky1 was set up for the older single LNB? (Not sure if that ever happened.) I never had a MySky1 so it's a little beyond me but there is a setting in the older Sky boxes that needs to be changed when switching from a single LNB to dual LNB. Maybe that's your problem? Come in Cyril?

P.S.: I can't find any way to change the LNB configuration on the HD box, is this the same for a MySky1?

What seems weird is that the Motorola Digital box we had for multi room worked fine on the same coax. The only difference is the splitter, maybe I should check that out?

EDIT: Another thought, have you tried swapping the cards over? Does the MySky1 now work and the HD not? If so you need to get your second card activated by calling Sky. Failing that...

Can you do a signal check from the MySky1 and the HDi? Does the MySky1 show locked?

Have a read of this... I had this problem when setting up freeview for my neighbour, and maybe it could be your problem too, although I am uncertain if the setting can be changed in a MySky1 box.

Do not know if this will be of any help but these were the changes made when changing from multirom MySky1 to multiroom MySky HD.

Dish feed splitter replaced, MySky1 splitters removed and single feed into into each MySky HD unit as the splitter is now internal. LNB power set to "ON" for both units as opposed to one "ON" and one "OFF" for the MySky1 setup.

Whether you need to have the dish feed splitter changed may depend on just what units it is connected to.

Thanks John and Anthony, will check it out and post back. John, you have triggered something I had forgotten about, I have a sky dish and a freeview dish on the roof (came as a package so why not have two) anyway I am actually connected to the freeview dish, so your post about the LNB frequncies may be the answer. Thanks again.

Anyone know how to set the advanced features in Mysky1? Assuming I need to change the LNB freq?

Problem solved! It was all my fault, I was using the Freeview dish when I thought I had looped off the sky dish ( patch panel) The LNB on the FV dish is 11300 and the sky dish 10750. I have disconnected the FV dish ( got terrestrial FV)  now so I dont fall into that trap again. Thanks for your help especially Motogpnz, your comment twigged me to what was going on.
