Hi.

Seems my battery might be suffering a bit from old age, lasts barely a day now if I am lucky.

Trying to find a replacement seems like pulling teeth.

Anyone replaced one successfully, ideally with a higher capacity unit? Where did you source said battery?

widely available on amazon - but issue will be getting it shipped here being a 'bare' lithium battery

Expect this to be a nightmare if you attempt to get it from Logitech. When I went through the same issue, however mine was on month 12 of warranty.

No local office, Australia said no spare available. After a lot of back and forth they credited me the cost of a new remote and advised to go out and buy a new one. crazy..

Unfortunately, due to it's age I don't have a warranty to fall back on. How long ago did you undertake this process @jabz ?

I might call them tonight and see what they suggest. Under the CGA, spare parts should be readily available for a reasonable period of time. I am pretty sure my unit might be 2 years old.

Just checked and it's Dec 2016 purchase date.

How long does your battery last do you think? They suggest putting into the cradle each night but I never remember. I'd be pretty lucky if I got 2 days from it otherwise.

It's never had good battery life, but prior models used to last a good 4-5 days.

Shipping batteries, even for wholesalers is just a bundle of pain...

Sea freight is the go'er sadly.

It took ~2 months.. and when they had no other viable option the refund process took 2 days.

My battery lasts approx 3-4 days, I think it's always been like that, I have never got 7 days out of it even when new. I've turned the brightness/backlight to minimum, vibration to soft fizz, screen timeout to 4secs.

We've owned dock-based Harmony remotes for many years, and have always just docked them every night - the main reason being that it guarantees we don't need to go hunting for the remote when wanting to use a device! As such, as long as the battery lasts a day (or less, in reality) it's good enough if you use it in this way.

TBH, our remotes (both Ones) don't get as much use these days as an increasing number of our devices are Bluetooth-based: PS4, 2x Amazon Fire TVs, LG TV's 'magic' remote... The ability to bring these all together again is the main reason I'd look to get an Elite or similar.
