Similar price, but is one better than the other?

I see a lot of reviews of each but not together, see a lot of reviews comparing pana to the af9 but they are a different price bracket

Panasonic’s colour science engine is better according to most reviewers.

Rather than focusing on the panel the O/S is pretty key for lots of people. Android TV is something you either lovr or hate so there is no point buying a Sony if you can't stand Android TV.

i actually prefer android tv as the VLC app plays *anything you throw at it, as well as file explorer app being able to connect directly to my windows PC

*well almost anything, as my galaxy s10 "experimental" 4K HDR 10+ won't play on anything

I have the A8F and went with Sony as most reviews highlight their superior image processing when it comes to upscaling non-UHD content. I don't have anything to compare to but non-UHD content does look really good.

Panasonic doesn't sell TVs in the USA so most reviewers will only be comparing it against LG's OLEDs.

I've got the Panasonic and love the picture quality. Don't have anything to compare it to other than my budget 50" tv in the games room however. I find the UI to be easy to use and does everything I need (Netflix and Plex mainly).
