Samsung has something called Smart View where you can stream video directly to your Samsung TV from any platform

But I have not found anything like that for LG, only has screen sharing. I'm not sure how screen sharing will work as none of my devices have a 4K HDR display so I'll be sharing a low res screen with the TV, and I have to waste battery running it on my device.

@Batman I've only used Smart-Share once on my C8, but if memory serves once connected it behaves as a second monitor so you can screen mirror to TV, extended display to TV, or use TV on the only monitor.

I don't think the display capability of your PC monitor or device screen has any impact, but the capabilities of your video card I imagine will.

LG has a built in service (with a phone app) called LG connect which can do that.

There is also an app in the tv's appstore that adds chromecast support directly to the TV allowing you to cast from your phone.

Cast is much easier than LG's app IMHO.
