I'm running on Windows XP and have a Athlon3500+ with a NVidia 8400GS card installed.  I can get Fossie's FreeviewHD samples to play in Windows Media Player with CPU usage of bewteen 3% to 11% so it seems that the h.264 offload is working fine.  the problem i have is that there is no sound!

i've been hunting around and not had much luck in finding an answer.  Is there a sound codec out there that will work with Media Player?

GL trying to get HE-AAC working. I couldnt get it working in Media Player Classic (!) let alone WMP. For some reason only programs like GBPVR and Mediaportal recognise the audio and decode it, even if monogram or coreaac is installed seperately.

oh well, i'm at least happy that the 8400 card managed to do the video decoding on my low spec'd XP system with hardly a blip on the CPU.  it also seems to work just as well for mkv files which is great.

i still havent bought a dvb-t card (or aerial) and i'm not so sure i care enough to upgrade to broadcast HD as the satellite picture is more than adequate for the TV i'm currently watching/recording..
