Hi,
I've just built a HTPC consisting of:

CPU: AMD X2 5000+
Motherboard: Asus m2n-x plus
Ram: 2gb ddr2 800
Graphics card: Asus EN8600gt silent
DVBT card: Asus My Cinema
HDD: 200gb
OS: xp pro sp2

Software/codecs:
mediaportal RC2
Power DVD 8
Monogram acc decoder

On tv3, c4, maori tv, HD preview channels I am getting lag.

Any suggestions/changes I should make to help stop the delay.

Can post screenshots if needed.

Cheers
Will

Have you got the powerdvd codecs selected and hardware acceleration enabled? What sort of cpu usage are you seeing when viewing those channels? What is your UHF reception like, is Prime crystal clear?

Yes have hardware acceleration selected in mediaportal under powerdvd.  Im getting max 11% cpu usage in windowed mode.
When viewing prime on normal tv, it isn't crystal clear but tv1 etc are clear.
Just re installing power dvd if it helps.

What do you mean by lag?  Is it stuttering during pans, or is it freezing sometimes or do you just mean the delay when changing channels before the new channel appears?

You could try using Graphedit with each of the lag channels & compare with the ones that don't to see if anything is there that shouldn't be.

Download Graphedit. Open Mediaportal in windowed mode. Start a TV channel. Open Graphedit, click on 'connect to remote server' in file (I think?). Click on the link in the box & see what codecs are present.

It's a start to diagnosing the issue. Post your results.
