Hey there,
Using MP TV Server with XMLTV and currently this program to grab the epg listings for the Freeview channels.
However sky is input via svideo and i've got no listings for these channels.
Specifically i want to grab listings-all.xml.gz

Even a batch file solution would be fine.
Cheers.

No idea about MP but for a batch solution to get the xml file what I do for gbpvr is use this free app called url2file

url2file

So

url2file http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/listings-all.xml.gz listings.gz
gzip -d listings.gz

rem creates a file called listings
ren listings listings.xml

rem - from here you can do whatever MP needs to load a XMLTV file

that url2file is cool, but I can't get the gzip to work, is that with another program or does url2file use that command?

How are you receiving Freeview?  UHF or Sat?
If you are receving via sat/DVB-S card then you don't need to use any other programs as you can grab the EPG directly via the sat.

Same as what I suggested except using wget instead of url2file. The file imports fine directly into gbpvr

Any idea why the epg is outdated?
Box is called Sky1
63 is still called J2
Te Reo is missing data
Fashion TV is missing data

Is it my xmlguide.dtd file?

I too have the sky channel connected via s-video to a nova dvb-s tv card receiving freeview . In the configure dialogue box , click on sources , s-video , tune . the sky channel will appear on whatever channel you have set ( providing the skybox is switched on ! ) You can then use the sky remote in the normal way to get epg .
My problem is the EPG on freeview , I have a channel labeled epg audio , but no EPG , anyone sussed this out ?

Hi, using VMC -I have been able to download this file, although I had to manually create the freeviewchannelinfo.xml file, and use bladerunner to import it. I have SKy via mce150 and freeview dvbs working (finally) in VMC. Does anyone else have this configuration running correctly?
The import appears to work fine, but when I try to assign channels to the guide in VMC, I see there are several entries listed, but all the sky listings are blank, and only the freeview channels show EPG?
Any help would be appreciated.
