Hi Guys

Current Rig:
Asus P5K-R Mobo
Intel Q6600 2.4 Ghz - as yet not overclocked
4Gb RAM
Asus 8800 GTS
4 x SATA HDD's
2xIDE HDD's
1x DVD Drive
Antec Sonata III case
19" CHIMEI monitor

2 spare 5.25 bays
1 spare pci slot
1 spare pci-e slot
1 spare pci graphics card slot

UPGRADES:
Harddrive:

I currently have no SATA or IDE ports left on my motherboard, so woul
need to add a pci card with more SATA ports if i wanted to add another
HDD - im thinking of adding a 1Tb SATA HDD. So i cant fit a pci tv card unless i can find a pci-e sata port card.

TV Tuner:
I am looking to add a tv card with a remote to my current system. I dont watch tv much, but i want to be able to record shows to watch later. I have a connection to a UHF arial available as input. I am currently looking at a Hauppage HVR-2200 for my tv card.

I also have a lot of old VHS tapes that i want to make digital copies of, and i am wondering if that is possible with the HVR-2200?
I was hoping to simply plug my VCR in via s-video or RCA and record.

What is a good remote for the HVR-2200?

Monitor:
I am wondering whether it is worth getting a HDMI capable monitor. I am not sure if the HVR-2200 can do HD freeview?

I do a lot of gaming, and i also like having a lot of space available for multiple documents to be open at once.
Hence i am thinking a single 24" monitor+ my current 19" would work. A pair of 22" + the 19" is an alternative, but i dont think i have the desk space to set them up easily.

Any recomendations on monitor setup/model?

I am currently looking at these models:
Samsung 22inch 2232BW Widescreen 2ms 3000:1 HDCP DVI LCD Monitor
Samsung SyncMaster 245B 24" Wide screen HDCP 3000:1
Samsung SyncMaster 226BW
BenQ G2400W 24" TFT Monitor 1920 x 1200250 cd/m2 5 ms 16:9 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA
Acer P241W 24" Wide Professional LCD 1920X1200 2mS 3000:1
Viewsonic VX2640w 26" Widescreen LCD 1920X1200 2MS DVI + Analogue
ACER AL2416WBSD 24" WIDE LCD 1920X1200 5MS 1000:1
Samsung 24" 2493HM 5ms HDMI Black LCD Monitor
BenQ 24" Wide V2400W, Black (Glossy Bezel/ Frame), 5ms, HDMI

Hi

What is a good remote for the HVR2200
- The HVR2200 doesn't require a remote.  The card does not include an IR receiver.  Therefore the HVR2200 has nothing to do with your choice of remote control.  A lot of people recommend the MCE remote kit which comes with an IR receiver, because its cheap and easy to setup.  I myself use the iMon remote which came with my HTPC case.

HVR2200 is PCI-Ex1 so it wont take up your PCI slot.  It is recommended by most users.  It has dual tuners and can do analog and digital (Freeview).  The analog tuner can also tune s-video in.

Why not a dell monitor, these are sometimes on special for very cheap

HTPC / Home automation (home assistant) enthusiast.
