   Hi,

After the petition all seems quiet, I think I have found out what the "other" channel is, Would you watch Hallmark channel also, if it meant we could have SciFI?

I aim to misbehave.

I would *not* watch Hallmark. I'd rather gouge my eyes out with rusty teaspoons than watch Hallmark.

   Hi,

That was a dramatic answer, the only reason I ask is that I have a feeling it will be all or nothing. I want SciFi and I will do anything to get it, even if that means letting the Wife watch Hallmark.

I aim to misbehave.

I dont really care, because I find that if I put what sky would cost me towards data to download things instead I get them sooner and better then sky would ever hope for. I suspect you will find most sci-fi fans are already doing this so trying to get them to actually spend money on a channel that shows old shows is going to be a hard sell.

If it was like the daily show on C4 where its a day behind, it may be worth it, but if its like any of the other sky channels showing months or years old shows then no point.

And from what I know of hallmark, then its a hell no.

Even if my wife had an inclination to watch Hallmark (which, thankfully, she doesn't), it would result in the immediate filing of divorce papers.

There cannot be enough goodness on SciFi to justify enduring Hallmark. Frown

I seem to remember Hallmark being on once before on Sky.  The endless repeats killed it for most viewers so it was removed due to low ratings. I think it got replaced with a shopping channel or Fashion TV the first time round..

Hallmark waste of space. Had sky when it was on, only watched a program on it once every 3 to 6 months. That's about how long it took them to come up with a new program. Liked the fanatsy ones like Jack and the BeanStalk. Wasn't interested in the endless programs of the type about someone dieing of cancer etc.

Would like to see scifi channel us version, aussie one looks like all old stuff at glance and nothing up to date. But if they're trying to force hallmark to be brought with it can see why sky not interested.

Last new channel was fashion tv, and it's the country channel starting next month which will be a subscription channel, wonder when a new channel will come out with mass appeal.

Most likely something like  The Reality TV Channel or The Disaster Channel..

I'll put my $$$ on a comedy channel.

Would a Travel channel (the same as the lucky Telstraclear customers get) be of interest?
Or Bloomberg Television to complement the "what stocks would you buy for the next 5 minutes" CNBC channels.

Unsure, but I'd sure like to know where things are at with this. Has anyone followed it up with officials at Sky TV?

Would people be happy with Foxtel's SciFi channel?

https://www.foxtel.com.au/EPG/EPG.aspx (select channel 132)

If there is a prepackaged channel then this becomes easier for Sky to consider (negotiate on $$$/subscriber/month) rather than having to assemble the channel themselves. However if there are too many programmes that Sky doesnt have rights too (ie the paytv rights have been warehoused by a FTA operator) then another prepackaged channel is an option.

Alternatively if there is an entreprenuerial mind somewhere that wants to take the business risk of facilitiating a transaction between a channel aggregator and Sky then step right up.  At the end of the day its economics of transmission cost (and opportunity cost of an existing channel - even if it is PPV with very low yield) and the content cost of $$$/sub/month.
