1. Digital Video (HDMI, DVI - will do upto 1080p) 2. Component Video (The three RGB cables you're probably used to seeing, can do upto 1080p) 3. S-Video (As far as i'm aware, this'll only do 480p) 4. Composite Video (The single RCA connection - this'll only do 480i)
This is my understanding. :) So it all really depends on what you can output, and what your tele can receive.
If you have a graphics card that has a DVI connection, probably best to use either a DVI -> Hdmi cable, or pickup a DVI -> HDMI converter. Of course this is dependant on your TV having HDMI.
