Since Im using my PC more and more for just playing media rather than gaming etc (more so now that have a bigger TV :) ), Im on the lookout for some media software that gives me a nice front end similar to Media Centre/GBPVR but without all the menus for TV etc as I dont have (or want) a TV card in my PC.

Any recommendations ? Or am I stuck with using VLC (which the wife dosent understand how to use...wants nice menu system :) )

TIA

Could look at XMBC which is pretty powerful (also what MediaPortal is based on)

Why not MCE/Media Portal or GBPVR with the Tv options turned off?

I think MCE it's difficult, but doable.  And I thought both GBPVR and MediaPortal allowed you to turn off various bits.  I know with GBPVR you can move options to a sub menu.
