Ive just had an idea to get my gf some headphones for xmas (going to UK) and have seen pbtech have a pretty good sale on.

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HSTSNY0290/Sony-WH-H900NB-Noise-Cancelling-Headphone-Hear-on

We tried the sonys on instore, too much bass for my liking, the gf said it was ok (I think over time it would get too much for her. Although I thought I read somewhere that the bass can be controlled via the app...?) USB C would be good though

I have read on so many occasions that the bose are the ones to get, but they do seem out of reach budget wise.

Can anyone give tips/advice/recommendations?

Thanks

I did just see these...

The Sony WH-1000XM3 bluetooth wireless noise cancelling headset were considered to be the bench mark in this type of headset when they came out. I don't think that has changed except Sony have since set the benchmark with their in ear WF-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones.

If your budget stretches to the WH-1000XM3's I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Do they have to be over ear ones? I've been testing some Oppo noise cancelling earphones for a review and have been using them in environments they're probably not designed for. Quite frankly, I've been astounded at how well they've performed.

Looked at a range of reviews before deciding on The Sony WH-1000XM3's.  They are fantastic.  Have seen sales around the $450 mark so that $400 price is pretty sharp if it's legit (I know nothing of the seller).  Some reviews even still put them above the newer Bose model.  I guess it depends on your price point.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah def over ear ones.

How did I know the sonys would get recommended haha. Do pay for quality I guess.

I have just seen I can get them for 450 at Noel lemming. 50 more, but would be easier to deal with if any problems.

My budget was 300-350, but I might feel guilty not getting the better ones. Argh conscious.. Haha

They're worth very cent in my opinion.

The only problem is you'll end up wanting a set for yourself as well. 😆

Haha thanks
I do have the sony zx770 I got from using my flybuys. I only use them when going back to UK to see family every few years but are worth it for the noise cancelling.

The gf borrowed mine on a recent trip and really liked them.
Just remind me not to listen to hers cos it will make mine sound terrible haha

No question MX3's as many here have already suggested. I have owned a LOT of headphones, and a lot of NC ones, and these are the pick of the bunch. I sold my Bose for them and don't regret it for a second.
