I am so frustrated

I bought an 8600gt because my 780G had video glitches with interlaced DVB-T (ie TV3 & C4)

Now everything works fine, i can watch TV3/C4 no problems, However mediaportal crashes on TV1/TV2/HD Demo.

If i change to a progressive channel i get picture + sound for a variable amount of time, usually 1-4 seconds then the system suddenly reboots.  Has anyone experienced this problem?

interestingly if i turn off hardware acceleration then i can watch the progressive channels no problem!!

So with ATI
I could watch progressive channels with hardware acceleration fine
If i watched interlaced then i got video glitches with hardware acceleration
If i turn off hardware acceleration i can watch all channels

And with Nvidia
I can watch interlaced channels with hardware acceleration fine
If i watch progressive channels then the system reboots after a few seconds
If i turn off hardware accceleration i can watch all channels

Is god punishing me?

Sorry but can't help you, Kiwi. But I have noticed a growing number of strange occurrences, on various forums, usually related to the AMD 4*** series of CPUs. Most also seem to have Gigabyte mobos.

I, myself, had a major issue with a 4800 CPU & Gigabyte mobo -not 780 version. I gave up & swapped out for Intel after over 40 hours & 3 trips across Auckland.
