Hi All,

I'm having a small problem whereby every 10 - 30 minutes the screen will pixellate for 1 - 2 seconds then come back to normal. The sound feed is fine, it's just the picture that's breaking up seemingly at random. My eXtra terrestrial box doesn't exhibit this at all, so I don't think it's a reception issue. (quality bar is full, power is half).

Is this a known issue? Anyone have workarounds? I'm using the PowerDVD codec's for both mpeg2 and H264 feeds.

Using the EVR, 8500GT and hardware decoding is enabled. Latest driver's for all.

There maybe something interfering with the picture output - I have this issue if I plug a USB hard drive in. I have also found that the ArcSoft codecs seem to be less prone to picture issues in general.

I get this with the PowerDVD8 codec. It was fine when using Arcsoft, but my trial ran out. Try rewinding 15secs or so when u see pixelisation and you will probably notice it doesn't occur in the same place again.

I'm pretty certain is is the PowerDVD codec causing the issue. I get it with the version 7 one but it disappeared when I tried the Arcsoft Total Media codec. I am going to try some other codecs when I get the chance soon. At present it's liveable as it does seem to come & go.

When I work out the best option I'll probably invest: just not interested in paying through the nose for an entire package.

I got this with the olympics coverage mainly, using PDVD8. I tried Arcsoft which worked perfect for 2 days but then decided to run like crap (very bad lag). Switched back to PDVD8 which seemed okay with a tinfoil RF shield between the tuner card and the graphics card, though hasnt been tested properly for the reasons below.

The HTPC hasnt been used in ages due to sorting this problem + others. Then MySky HDi turned up which ruined the great setup which i had in place, since no one can be bothered to flick inputs from sky to the HTPC and a non-hdmi receiver does not help this.
Svideo into HTPC looks crap compared to the direct HDMI feed and now everyone is used to MySky's interface and ease of use and lack of problems.

I prefer the HTPC because i understand all the advantages it has, the potential available and don't mind fixing issues however i would simply get complained at if I even used it due to the input switching required to go back to sky, and the comparitively slow interface/channel switching

So the HTPC is collecting dust and i still don't know if it has an issue. *Sigh*
