Hi

Does anyone know how to change the function of the front buttons on the LC16-M HTPC Case?

There does not appear to be any options in iMON.
I want to hack the button so it can send a keystroke to mediaportal.
I want to be able to scroll through the mediaportal menus using the front buttons, so i can access My Pictures / My Music just using the VFD and front buttons only.

I had no luck with this. I was a bit disappointed in the whole iMon experience actually.

Agreed Tony, I only really have it displaying the TV channel/Video/EPG details now, had it scrolling news/random stuff for a while but the novelty wore off.  i love the styling of the case but the buttons and dial aren't functional for me.  mind you noone is ever near the case except to put a usb stick or flash card in.

When I build another HTPC for Freeview HD, I will not bother getting an LCD case. I too had it doing random stuff, but any lights in the field of view are a distraction. I wish the MySKY lights could be dimmed/turned off.

My Reciever has a nice mode where its bright when you are using it, then it quickly fades to almost nothing but a dim volume indicator. As well as about 4 brightness settings.

Blue LEDs should join Comic Sans MS.

Anybody tried this software. I don't think it helps with the LC16 buttons, however it looks pretty useful if you want to configure the LCD display to display something useful.

Duckquack - Thank you!!!

I think i saw that thread a long time ago, but my search terms didn't bring it up!

Are you using the silverstone LC16-M as well

It seems a shame that i will have to install 2x further programs to remap both the knob and the front buttons.

I may just remap the front buttons only and skip the knob, because i think girder sounds like it will take a while to learn/setup!

I have two ultra bright blue LED's at the front, and the HDD one will probably be unplugged, but any ideas how can i dim down the power one without it looking bad (eg ball of cellotape on the front)

Can you solder a resister in series?  Not sure if that has any drawbacks? If = (Vs - Vf)/R

Yes I'm using the LC16M Case and overall I'm pretty happy with it. I've only had it up and running for a few weeks however I've been collecting info on the setup and saving it to my favorites for 6mth, which assisted the search for the info you were after. I haven't attempted this yet, however let me know how you get on. My next mission is remapping the remote so it works with Media Portal.

front button fix was very easy
i compiled a stadalone .exe that remaps the front buttons to keystrokes
im gonna fine tune it though, i found that having the play button mapped to p is not very useful
and it would be better to have a back/escape key mapped to the front.
i posted the .exe file in my other thread, but if you want a while i might change the key strokes to make them more useful.
