Hi everyone, I have a problem that I am hoping has an easy solution, but as a totally blind person, I can't try various fixes out and verify whether the problem is fixed or not.

I am running Windows media Center 2005 with an analogue TV tuner card. Perhaps due to an improper shut-down or some such thing, Media Center forgot a whole bunch of settings such as the channel line-up etc.

I've fixed all that now, however I'm told by people who care that when watching TV, the picture flashes on and off, I am told quite rapidly. I guess you might say the entire picture is blinking. Text on the screen looks normal.

It apparently doesn't look like fuzzy or bad reception, more like rapid interruptions.

If anyone can point me to what might be causing this, I'd be most grateful and it will keep me sane during the next school holidays if I can make it work properly again.

Cheers.

Jonathan

i'm also running xp mce 2005 and I just recently stuck in a 8400GS video card and set up a custom resolution for my samsung plasma screen - 848x480 60Hz.  This resoution used to show up fine with the onboard, but not with the 8400GS card for some reason.  I started seeing the screen blank for a second or two every now and then.  After updating graphic drivers, then beta drivers and messing with things I found that it didnt occur with the standard resolutions (1024x768, 800x600).  Because the standard resolutions give me crappy text on screen I went back and played more iwth the custom resolutions - i tried a 848x480 custom resolution at 50hz and have since not experienced any more blanking.

its probably not related to your problem at all, but then no-one else has offered much of anything as a solution so far Smile
