Hi Guys, I'm working on an HTPC and am in need of some help.

I am trying to replace my DVB-S STB that I currently use to receive channels from Asiasat 3S with my HTPC. The setup that I currently have is:

- AMD4000 x2
- 3GB RAM
- 8600GT
- Some OEM DVB-S card (searched the internet and I think its this card)
- Vista32SP1
- MediaPortal RC2

The first problem I faced was that this satellite is not listed in the list of satellites that can be selected under the TV server configuration menu. My solution to this was to create a transponder list file of my own and then added a reference into the satellite XML file. Now the satellite is visible and am able to select this satellite but the problem is that when I search for channels I can only find about 35 (of which 25 are repeats so in actual about 10) channels (both vertical and horizontal). My STB can find around 50 to 60 unencrypted channels and over 200 channels in total (including encrypted).

P.S:
- I wanted to test using GBPVR just for troublshooting but GBPVR does not even detect my DVB-S card
- The LNB is definitely being powered; I’ve confirmed this using a multimeter

What am i doing wrong?...suggestions?

Thanks

I am going to try and replace the DVB-S card with a WinTV Nova S card this week, maybe its just the card.

Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
