Hi!
I came across with the following situation:

- record TV. There is no info in tv guide for this, so the recording is named "manual" in "Recorded TV" list.
- it plays OK
- there is no "Rename" option when accessing the "Recorded TV" list.
- if I access the file through "My Videos", there is a "Rename" option. I renamed the file.
- now, the file is still shown in "Recorded TV" list as "manual", but it does not play anymore.
- I can play it from "My Videos" only, where it can be seen with the new name.

Is this normal?
Is it impossible to rename a recorded tv show and still be able to play it from "Recorded TV" list?

Yes this is to be expected. In "My Videos" you're viewing files in "Recorded TV" you're viewing database entries, the database entry contains title, description, rating, channel and filename etc, if you rename the underling file then the database entry points to the file that is no longer there. If you wanted to rename a program in "Recorded TV" you need to edit the database with something like SQL Management Studio Express (assuming you using MSSQL Express )

thank you for that.

I expected to be related to the database... every "recorded tv" show has an .xml file with the same name. I can edit it (with Notepad). I will try, and see what happens. I think I played with them before but there is no change in "recorded tv" displayed list.

1] is there a plugin able to rename "recorded tv" and avoid this problem? There is a plugin called "FileExplorer" or something like this. Did you use it?

2] what can I do to "recover"that file again, to be able to access it from "recorded tv"? I do not remember the original name, it was made of channel, show name, date, maybe included start time as well...
