I had been using EPG Collector V4.0. When I tried to install V4.3, the installation started normally, then a window appeared with the message "The older version of EPG Collector cannot be removed". Then the install stops and reverses. The old version has been removed with Geek Uninstaller. The registry has been cleaned with Ooregeditor. All references to EPG Collector and Geekzone removed. Now I don't have EPG Collector and no other version works. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Does it appear in the list from Control Panel - uninstall?

The EPG Collector install doesn't do anything strange. It's a straightforward msi install.

Not directly to the EPG Collector but third-party uninstallers and registry cleaners cause more damage than good, usually. I wouldn't use these on a good Windows install.

The reg editor was a last resort; an effort to clear all traces of the  original installation. I've been using Geek Uninstaller for several years without a problem. Something must have been corrupted when trying to uninstall EPG Collector V4.0. Newer versions (4.2 and 4.3) are somehow detecting V4.0 and won't install.

You could always try using the zip rather than the msi for V040300.

Problem solved using system restore. The restore point was only 3 days old and I wasn't sure it would work. EPG Collector V4.3 successfully installed using the msi file.

Thank you for your replies.
