This started happening quite a few months ago. Often a small tap or twist brings it back to life again normally.

Given it seems to function fine once "positioned" correctly for a while, I'm hoping that the issue is easily fixable. I'd ideally not have to get rid of the TV if I can avoid it.

Any ideas?

Easy fix, Replace it with a computer screen.

It looks like the LCD layers might be pealing away. stick a vice grip on it?

I've had to fix a few of my Samsung Tvs which have had similar issues. Where the connection from the board connects to the actual lcd screen, the Conductive glue / bonding from the ribbon cable to the lcd has separated. I've had success just using some Drought Stop / pvc foam tape to put pressure on the connections to make them work.

I'm not sure that anyone you paid would be willing to guarantee such a solution though.

Possibly would work, but was hoping for something less... tacky. :P

Interesting, I might have to pull it apart and have a look. It's driving me bonkers. Anything in particular that would stand out as "the cable"? I did check the ribbons a little while ago and the appears to be okay, nothing obviously wrong. Obviously want to be careful not to zap myself.
