I have some credit on Drop (formally Massdrop).  I assume most people know about Drop but if not here is a referral code that gets you a few $:

https://drop.com/?referer=ZWXRJ6

Can someone recommend me a DAC?  I don't follow this closely and it's very confusing.  These are my requirements:

I have built myself a custom music listening station in my man cave which consists of

Surface Pro 7

Surface Dock

Widescreen monitor

Two Sony XB43s running in stereo pair connected to the Surface Pro 7 via bluetooth.

UE Hyperboom (I normally use the Sonys but got this free with a phone)

Sennheiser HD 380 pros

In terms of a DAC I would like:

Headphone output

Bluetooth 5 with LDAC

Optical output (I could live without this if needed).

Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many, if any, at the moment on Drop that would fit your requirements. If the Topping DX3 Pro v2 came back, or the DX7 Pro for the upgrade pick, that could work.

Otherwise, you could look at separates for a DAC with bluetooth 5 support + a head-amp. You might find a better range of products that way, and I am always a fan of the "one box = one function done well" approach. Depending on how much money you want to spend of course. How much credit/budget are we talking about here?

The only DAC on Drop right now with BT/LDAC support is the Topping D70 BT for $439USD, but, while it's a good DAC, newer lower range models have kinda put it in a weird spot of paying more for the same/less performance. The D50s would be a better price point, but yeah, sold through.

Or, depending on whether you want to use your credit and get it done, you could just buy a decent head-amp, like the Drop O2, Cavalli Liquid Carbon X, or THX AAA 789, and sort out a BT DAC from somewhere else.
