Hi All. As some will know I've got a frontend/backend Mythbuntu setup going and while it's still proof of concept at ths stage I've found a strange thing with the recording schedules.
My current setup is a satellite STB fixed to C4 coming in to my recording backend via a bt based tv card - my setup doesn't change channels as yet so I've only got one channel available for selection. (That'll change when I get a DVB-S card).
Since I don't have more than C4 available to me (the whole reason this is set up) I haven't bothered to integrate EPG into MythTV. To schedule recordings I use MythWEB's manual schedule setup and select the 'always record in this timeslot' option for my Family Guy episodes.
What I've found is that when I schedule recordings Myth will only schedule two weeks worth of recordings. If I forget to check the schedule regularly I end up missing some Family Guy because the two weeks expired and I forgot to re-enter the manual schedule.
Does anyone have a thought as to why this is? My Pioneer DVR that does all the rest of my recording of other channels via normal TV aerial can handle continual 'always record this timeslot' ok so I'm guessing this is a Mythtv limitation. Does any other MythTV distros do the same thing? Or is it just me? Or is it just because I'm treating MythTV like a glorified VCR and it's p*ssed with me for doing so...?
Any thoughts will be appreciated. Cheers
