Hi,

Anyone here in the know about when the 2021 Samsung TV models will be available in NZ?

Looking at a 43" The Frame or other Samsung TV with the 'one cable' solution and thin wall mount ability for a smaller room.

As an aside, anyone had any experience using these offline?

Keen on the Art slideshow when in standby option of the The Frame version, but could well be installing without network connectivity, so would need to be self sufficient for local TV/USB image source etc offline.

I don't know when they will be available in retail but Samsung sent out an invitation to press for a 10 March "Visual Display Technical Summit".

Yeah looking to purchase soon so a bit annoyed to have to get last years model when this years may be just around the corner.
"The Frame, available for preorder now starting at $1,000, ranges in size from 32 inches all the way up to 75 inches."

That said let's be real, covid has it's manufacturing and distribution impacts and we are also in NZ so far away from the action.

I have a 42” Frame TV. 2019 LS03 model though. You can use art images from a USB and can even transfer them to the Frame’s memory if you want to. At the moment the TV is on a legacy entertainment stand so doesn’t look right as an artwork, so we don’t use the art function.

I like the “One Connect” box, as it keeps things tidy. I am considering getting a 10m ‘invisible’ cable to go with it to be able to hide it in a cupboard. The biggest impediment is the $300 price tag!

This TV was an upgrade from a Panasonic 42” 4K LED and it is streets ahead of that one.

Manufacturers typically start rolling out their new model year May/June, but as you have already identified, this year might be a little different

... and (in normal times) the previous year’s models often start getting discounted from April onward.

Thanks all,

Yeah currently no deals on these but would expect the 2020 model to drop in price soon, probably the day after I purchase.

Awesome, thanks for the first hand experience feedback.

How long is the supplied cable?  I won't need it to run very far at all, but good to know there are future options to run it over a longer period.
The one box / single cable running up to the TV carrying both power and video is a major for us in this instance, where we will be allowed to wall mount, but not to do a 'full' concealed cable run type install.

5m I think? The cable is thin but pretty sturdy. It comes with a couple of radius clips so you can go round corners without kinking. Zero gap wall mount comes in the box.

Worried the trend of TVs coming on song and then going up in price as the year progresses may be with us for the foreseeable future tbh.

I'd be keen for a 2021 Frame if the new prices aren't extortionate, it has HDMI 2.1 and the picture quality is on par with a Q70T.

Silly question time, but assume the IR remote receiver is on the TV itself, and the one box doesn't need to be visible for the remote to work?

This might help:

Looks like this is starting to happen - Samsung NZ have also sent out comms in the last few weeks about their 2021 flagships so the new range can't be far away.
