Sometimes (not always), the signal for some channels (for example TV 1 and TV2) becomes really weak.

It happens around 6pm in the evening.

We've already got a signal booster installed.

How come this happens and generelly around this time in the evening?

It's a clear night tonight, so can't blame it on bad weather.

Unsure about either of your questions, sorry.
But if it was an antenna issue or a distance issue, shouldn’t it be a persistent issue and not only in the early evening hours?

The last place it should be. You install a signal booster before the signal is lost over the cable run, i.e., it should be on the antenna mast head.

And also have the antenna relocated from ceiling cavity to a location where it is in line of sight to transmitter, i.e., without the roof in the way.

Boosters are wideband, chances are its overloading on someone infront of the antenna using a phone or some other device in a nearby band. Even a dect phone can screw up things sometime if the signal is way stronger than the in band stuff its supposed to be boosting.

The problem looked like it disappeared, which is why I didn’t get the installer back.

I should probably have asked them about this, when the house was built (we only moved in 12 months ago).
The antenna is indeed inside the roof.

Still, shouldn’t the issue be persistent and not just (sometimes) around 6pm for an hour or two?

The weird thing is that when it happens, it’s always around 6pm.
If someone was using a phone or it was a DECT phone issue, surely it would happen any time of the day?

Does the reception vary with the seasons??, e.g., occur later in summer??

Perhaps they get kicked out of a room by a person they live with that insists on consuming 6pm "news" entertainment? Do you use the TV at other times of the day to know if it happens outside that time?

Otherwise just buy a vodefone tv box and forget that legacy over the air stuff.
