Hi all

Just got my LG c1 65inch and going to get someone to wall mount it and put wiring in the wall.

I'm unsure on wall brackets. I will be using this for gaming (series X) as well as netflix and movie watching etc. What would people recommend? Is it best to get something that isn't super flush to the wall so I can access behind the tv (inputs include xbox, apple tv, speaker) I don't really have a need for it to be able to swing out but is this the best option to access the back?

I have my OLED wall mounted and its not one of those ultra flush types you can get. So i have access...a little tight...on the left hand side to plug in usually Hard Drives as i run everything via a receiver. Unless you will be upgrading something else in the near future i dont see any reason to even go back there after everything is installed. I would recommend having it at a good height on the wall, not waaaaay up high that a lot of people do. Mine is low on the wall where the centre of the screen is at eye level when i sit.

What brand do you have? Yeah I guess as long as my HDMI cords hold up then I should be okay and wont have to upgrade. I'm off to buy a couple of certified HDMI cords tomorrow with the hopes that they can handle 4k at 120hz. I might upgrade my sound system at some stage but honestly that's at least a couple of years away.

The standard practise for wall mounting TVs is to position them so your eyes are level with the bottom of the screen when seated with the TV angled slightly down. Emphasis on slightly down.

Therefore I would recommend a tilting mount at the least and that will rule out most flush or semi flush mounts.

After buying some androidTV dongles for my wall mounted TVs, I decided there was too much stuff hanging around the back. As such I setup a piece of plywood with all the devices cable-tied/screwed into it and put this behind the mount. Much tidier and super easy to connect. You do need to have the TV further offset from the wall (I used some timber behind the screws for this):

Bung: If you are at low table height is wall mounting any advantage?

Allowing space on top of a table/cabinet for a centre speaker would be a legit reason (this is the situation in our case). I'd also argue it's nice to have blank wall around all edges of the TV to remove visual distractions.

It also looks much classier.

I have this. Reviews are excellent and pulls out to front enough to access back/side of TV.

I use this LocTek tilting one, which means I can get the angle to be flat-on for my viewing position, as well as also conveniently allows a bit of hand access.

You can see some further details and the OP's subsequent end result in this thread for a 65" C9.

I got mine years ago from Rapallo. I have had a couple of TVs hanging off it over the years. It came with a level built in which is handy. I wouldnt spend more than $100 on a wall mount. Theres nothing too them especially for your purposes. Due to the nature of OLEDs being able to be watched from almost any angle up or down,i wouldnt be too fussy regards getting something that can angle the TV down for viewing. Especially at that height.

I had been looking at that one, thanks for the recommendation. Do those strings hang down or can you tuck them away?

Thanks for the help everyone, now to get some quotes to get someone to put it up and run some wires for me, if anyone has recommendations in Wellington, let me know.

I also fitted a LocTek tilting mount for my 75” sony.  The strings have a magnet at the end to loop it up out of the way.

To hide the cables to / from my AV system and AP router I use plastic trunking painted the same colour as the wall.

I've got my 65" C1 (same as yours) on one of these https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/one-for-all-wall-mount-32-90-inch-flat-100kg-wm2611/R2668312.html

My recommendation still stands if you want a tilting one.
