So the NZ DVB-T EPG doesn't work in Windows 7 Media Center, but about alternative Windows or Linux PVR software, Mediaportal, GB-PVR, MythTV etc?

Is there any solution to get an EPG working without a DVB-S signal or Intenet connection to the HTPC?

If not I guess I'll have to recommend the Zinwell box for this situation as installing a dish or Internet hardly seems worth it.

No.

EPG's wrk fine on MediPortal, GB-PVR etc but your options are to use XML files or the DVB-S EIT. Nobody has fully implimented MHEG5 so there is no way to use the Freeview EPG.
