I want a new HTPC.

Since getting rid of MySKY in Dec, Have been using a Zinwell 620HD box for live viewing, and a nice Panasonic HDD DVR for analogue recording, but its all just a bit archaic.

I really dont know if I can be bothered putting an HTPC together, and doing the install, configuration, EPG, patches etc etc etc etc.

There are some pre-configured MediaPortal units on TM starting at $1350.

Any other places online that are selling preconfigured boxes? I think I would like to go with GBPVR if possible. I saw a lot of potential in the package, and a bit of a peek at sbiddles unit really inspired me a few months back.

Anyone here interested in putting a box together for me, and doing all the setup/config? (For a fee of course).

I need EPG, Freeview HD with capability to record ANY two channels at once (not just same mux), 500GB HDD, WiFi, HDMI, DVD Burner, Black HTPC case with room for more drives, Media Centre Remote / reciever. Doesn't have to be super silent.

DONT make me go and buy the $1000 Zinwell PVR lol.

I've been down this road already, don't ask sbiddle to build it for you as he won't because he's too lazy.

Yeah... at least I dont have to worry about WAF anymore, so building it myself and tweaking it over time is a viable option for me now, I just dont WANT to lol.

Consumer information fail. No pricing online. No way to submit an order without having to ring or email.

Gah.

Yeah I noticed the links between mypvr and openmedia were circular. You like the product, and want to know more, you get sent to the other site.

Somewhere, someone mentioned Duality Electronic's d|ec - duality|entertainment centre and looks quite good... if you're willing to part for that sort of pricetage with an all-in-one big Full HD screen though.

DIY. It was not difficult for me a year ago. I used an old P4 PC (I'm unemployed poor bum) and quite complicated configuration for my own custom needs. GBPVR is quite straight forward piece of art (would not say the same about MythTV though). Just read their wiki and buy compatible hardware. The most important parts after TV tuners are reliable silent PSU and fans.
