I have just picked up a HiSense U7 to use with a Google TV Streamer 4k. Thankfully CEC works unlike my old TV but when I switch on using the Streamer remote, the TV defaults to its own menu whereas I want to see the Streamer one. So at the moment I have to select Inputs on the TV remote, select the Streamer from the list and wait for it to come alive.

Is there a way to make it default to the Streamer HDMI input?

Thanks.

My TV, not a highsense, starts with the last selected input. Because it's always the streamer that works for me.

Mine doesn't so far, maybe there is a setting I have to change.

Google says Settings > System > Power & energy./ Power on behavior

That may or may not be correct. Your manual might be more helpful around that or the hdmi cec options

Think it was a Hisense I had to setup for work a couple months ago and ran into this. Under the power settings menu there is a power on option that you can set to last input rather than the home screen, which should do what you need.

Also, if you don't want to sign into a Google account, set the mode to store/shop mode but disable the demo option.

The last couple of TVs I have set up had an option right at the start of out of box to choose between smart TV or display only which would disable all its nonsense. Perhaps try resetting it and going from scratch again with no network connection and see if you can dumbify it. This was for ones used for CCTV monitoring so we had no desire for it to show as a casting target at all on the network. Now it just powers back up on the input and shows it. Still slow to get going compared to a monitor but no menu or anything on it.
