Hey Guys

So needing some rear speaker stands for my Sound bar surrounds ( Samsung 990b ).  Nothing is "perfect" for these speakers, so im looking to repurpose a generic set and 3d print one of the mount adaptors that people have created to fit the speaker perfectly.  But used stands seem to be bloody hard or stupidly expensive. ( at least in chch the pickings are slim ).  Any advice on stores that might be clearing out some of the ones below ( or similar ) .  Seems the stands that are designed for Sonos Play 1,3,5 are generally cheaper as they are "discontinued" items, but still struggling to find a pair for a reasonable price.

Any thoughts on where to go looking.  Looking for Black or woodgrain combo like below.  Seen a number on trademe i could modify but most up north and no shipping options due to weight.  Local used stores seemed to have nothing.

Cheers

Op shops and the local tip shop ( recycling centre) could be worth a whirl...

Not sure what sort of pricing you’re expecting but you could check out Gary Anderson in Cromwell. He appears to have quite a few stands marked down at the moment.

I’m in Auckland and have bought Sonos stuff from him. Was very good to deal with.

I just bought a pair of the stands that you have pictured. They were new from PB Tech Sockburn ($207).

I got them for my Samsung HW Q990F soundbar and they are perfect. Very good quality too.

You may have to bite the bullet and buy them new. I searched for some used stands, but there was nothing available

Any chance you have a photo of yours on the stands?

Don't want to move them as I have them set perfectly for my listening. Hope one will suffice.

Thank you!.  Looks like the plate the speaker sits on is fairly large, assume that plate is screwed on and could be replaced with a smaller plate if required.  They look smart though!

The plates are 200mm diameter, but not a lot bigger than the speakers. They do screw on and there is a pad to stick on them so that they don't slip around. I'm really happy with them.

IMO these look good for the $189 price.

Too low for rear surrounds though, thats the other challenge, getting something tall enough.

I also looked at those, but they were too low, and the plates were too large @ 250mm

The Brateck ones that I have are 781mm high and the speakers are at ear height when I'm sat on my sofa.

Hi @movieman

Congrats on your new Samsung HW Q990F .  The rear speaker stands look really nice.
Can you switch the HDMI inputs without turning the soundbar on?

The reason I am asking is that I have a Yamaha HT and it has 3 inputs , NUC PC, Freeview Recorder/DVD, and TIVO with the one output to my Sony TV
I can always switch these inputs while the Yamaha is in standby by pressing each input button.
Also I dont want to watch all programmes like the news using the HT surround sound.

I am not using the rear speakers.
At some stage I am thinking of purchasing a sound bar like your Q990F, as we only use the HT occasionally.

Hope my query is clear enough

Thanks

EDIT:  OOPs I should have posted this in Forums › Home Theatre (including HTPC and EPG Collector) › Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar
Sorry.

The Samsung has an eARC port and two extra HDMI 2.1 ports for whatever you want to connect. Being 2.1 they are great for gamers with a PS5 or XBOX, but I have my Apple TV 4K and 4K Blu-ray player connected.

I downloaded the Samsung Smart Things app to my phone and I can use  that to turn on whichever device I want to use. I don't need to turn the soundbar on first. I usually use each devices remote to turn them on.

It's still new to me, so I'm not sure if you could have the sound from the TV not going through the soundbar when watching the news etc.
