We're Kiwis living in London, and returning home (Auckland) for a wedding 'reception' with family and friends after tying the knot in the UK. Here in London we've got Sonos throughout the house, and would love to rent some sort of multi-room audio solution for the wedding do (the reception will be at the family home). All I have come across is large PA system rentals, and I'm looking for something more discrete such as 3-5 Sonos One/Era 100 speakers (or similar), as well as an Airplay 2/Sonos amp that we could connect to the existing living room Hi-Fi.

Anyone know of any way to rent such a setup for a day or two?

How many people are you catering for?

Whats the purpose of the audio…simply background music and ceremony or are you wanting dancing as well?

background will wrok with Sonos, but anything else such as ceremony and dancing you will struggle.

with wind, outside noises, people….its hard to hear even from say 5-10 meters

there’s plenty of hire mobile PA systems (small), with either one or two small speakers (can get battery powered or active speakers requiring power), they come with a microphone and small mixer and often nowadays those mixers have Bluetooth (so you could drive the Sonos ).

there plenty of hire places in Auckland….justa  matter of what will fit your needs.

(I guess the tricky part will be to figure out how you can drive Sonos and a portable system at the same time but normally that can be done via a small mixer…one line out to the Sonos and the high level to the loud speaker (just gotta find a mixer than can take Bluetooth input (which you can always make yourself with a Bluetooth adapter placed on an input)

good luck, all the best.
