(not really Home Theatre, but happy to have it moved)

I'm after recommendations/warnings about bluetooth transmitters. We have an older (10y) Samsung UA55H6400 TV that is fitted with a Chromecast Android TV dongle via HDMI (the TV is semi-smart, but the apps on the Chromecast behave much better).  It also has an HDMI input from a sky box. I'm looking at getting a pair of Sony wireless headphones WH-1000XM4 and connecting them to the TOSLINK output via a Bluetooth transmitter.  Any comments welcome.

Have a look at this Avantree Audikast 4: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005011634956454.html

Can take a Toslink Optical connection or 3.5mm Aux. 2 Modes - Normal Bluetooth (1 to 1), or Bluetooth Auracast (1 unit to many). I just put this in a church space for their hearing aid users for the Bluetooth LE Auracast side - transmits a public or private Auracast broadcast - quite low latency, good sound quality, very good range (30metres plus). Not all hearing aids have Auracast / Bluetooth LE yet, but it is a new standard.

The Sony Headphones you put in don't support Auracast. If you only want to run 1 set of headphones, then that would be fine. If you want to run more than one set and use Auracast, then a more recent model?

XM4 were nz$299 at Costco when I passed by recently. For something with more bling Dyson has OnTrac for $299. Sony XM5/XM6 have Auracast. Those have my dislike with the flimsy swivel thing. Broke my XM5s. If you don't need good noise cancelling then you have more options.

Bluetooth LE capability should get you 20-30ms latency. Anything else it might be worth worrying about.
